Slow and steady wins the race…

You don’t always have to be the fastest to show great Bring it on Spirit. Jackie Cobell, 56, recently swam the channel, but didn’t take into account the tides and swam 64 miles rather than the direct 21 mile route. Jackie broke the previous record for the longest time to cross the channel as she swam for 28 hours. As a way to compare – the average time of channel swims is 16 hours. Jackie told the Telegraph “”I kept seeing the beach and thinking I was nearly there, then the tide would sweep me along the coast.” It wasn’t all bad news; along with a place in the record books Jackie also raised over £7,000 for the Huntingdon’s Disease Association. Bring it on!
